Favourite nail care blog posts

You know, I've got this strange thing: I really like nailcare-related photos. And I enjoy reading posts and articles on the subject: even though I've found my own firm favourites, I'm still curious and want to know about what other people (well, especially talented nail bloggers) use and what is their routine.
There's nothing as classy as perfectly manicured hands and nails. Well that, and the natural elegance some women are just born with.
So here's a selection of my favourite nailcare and handcare beauty blog posts.
Thanks to all of them for letting me use their pics and material.

[I've asked permission to all the bloggers mentioned to use their images and link back to their blog. Everyone answered 'yes', except for Sabrina of "The Beauty Look Book" who didn't respond to the email. Maybe she missed it. Sabrina, if you see this post and want me to remove all references to your blog and photos of yours, I will most certainly and immediately do so.]

The Beauty Look Book
Sabrina of The Beauty Look Book is always been such an inspiration. Her photos are always on point and her content is always interesting. I came to know of the Deborah Lippmann Cuticle Remover thanks to her, and that is my absolute favourite cuticle remover.
She did two blog posts about her nail care routine and maintenance.
The first one is from 2014:

2014 Nailcare and nail polish favourites - Smalti e trattamenti preferiti del 2014

Hello beauties!
This year I wanted to group all the favourites of 2014 because I l-o-v-e this kind of posts / videos on Youtube: in this blog post I'll talk about nail-related products whereas a second one will be dedicated to skincare, makeup, perfumes and others.
So let's just jump right into part one, shouldn't we?

Ciao bellezze!

Nail care and manicure essentials

Hello beauties!
Here are the products I use and the things I've learnt throughout the years on how to keep nails healthy and to make my mani look good.
I'm not a pro and I'm so far from perfection, but since the beginning of my passion for nail polish the way my nails look has improved so much (however I still have to improve my  cleanup game and the appearence of my dry cuticles...).
  • It's better having short but healthy nails rather than long and dry, brittle and peeling ones. I've learnt this after years of wanting my nails to be super long. The fact is, my nails are weak and they tend to peel and break AND I am lazy. So trying to grow them and maintain the length (aka putting effort in taking care of them) has always been a struggle. It was not until recently that I came to accept the fact that my nails are healthier and better looking at a short/medium length. The trick I use to give the impression of longer nails is to try to have longer nail beds.
  • My nails bend, so I file them very gently on the sides under the free edge and try to moisturize them regularly.
  • Hydration (from the inside out) is the key! I try to drink lots and to apply cuticle oil or balm and handcream as frequently as I can (or better remember to). My arsenal: L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand cream, Love + Toast, Lush Lemony Flutter (which I love more as an all-over hand and nails cream rather than as cuticle butter), Pai Fragonia & Sea Buckthorn Instant Hand Therapy cream, Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme (smells delicious!!).
