Back with something slightly more fresh. This nail polish is just amazing: I love the colour and the formula is perfect.
I rember that the collection this nail polish came out with really got me, even if it wasn't too outstanding, but the colours went so well together.

Questa volta posto qualcosa di più "fresco". Questo smalto è incredibilmente bello: adoro il colore e la formula è perfetta. Ricordo che la collezione con cui era uscita questa tonalità mi aveva colpito molto per la coordinazione dei colori.

After I finished taking pictures for my last post ( Illamasqua Rampage) I ended up doing a swatching session of some of my green nail polishes, with a subsequent selection of the ones I want to keep in my collection and the ones that need to go.
I tried to be as honest and relentless as possible with myself and purged the polishes that are really not working for me. It's not that they are bad or ugly, some of the colours I mean to part from are truly beautiful (Emerald Fitzgerald, I'm looking at you, amongst others). They just didn't make it for me or I have dupes for them.
Anyway, I think that in the future I will eventually manage to downsize my collection even more, but... we're taking one baby step at a time here.
Oh, and if you want a reference, here is the nail polish inventory (Flickr) I did last year in February as well. On the same occasion I did a first serious decluttering (Spring cleaning mood I guess?).
I want to make a series of Downsizing Project posts, though I'm still not sure with what frequency.

Dopo aver scattato le foto per il mio ultimo post (Illamasqua Rampage) ho swatchato alcuni smalti verdi e ho selezionato quelli che voglio tenere e quelli che invece non fanno per me.
Ho cercato di essere il più inflessibile e drastica possibile. Non si tratta di smalti di cattiva qualità o brutti, alcuni sono davvero molto belli (Emerald Fitzgerald sto guardando te!). Purtroppo non mi stanno bene oppure sono dupe di altri colori che ho.
Magari in futuro riuscirò a ridurre ulteriormente, ma... ci sto provando piano piano.
Se volete vedere l' "inventario smaltaro" dell'anno scorso è in questo album su Flickr. Avevo già colto quell'occasione per fare un po' di pulizie di primavera.
Voglio iniziare una serie chiamate Downsizing Project, anche se non so ancora con quale frequenza.

Essie Jazz and nail art fail...

Hi everyone!
Today I finally show you one of the first "pro" polishes I ever got and also one of my all-time favourites: Essie Jazz.
I picked up this one now already four years ago in the beautiful, cozy, elegant MiniLuxe salon in Boston. I didn't even do any research, the only color I knew I wanted was OPI You Don't Know Jacques, which was rather hyped at that time: so I walked in, took a look at all the nicely displayed polishes, saw Jazz and it was love at first sight.
The formula is not perfect, it requires two coats only but you still have to be careful to avoid patches and streaks, but the colour is something so chic and classic.

Finalmente vi mostro uno dei primi smalti "seri" che ho comprato e che guarda caso è anche uno dei miei preferiti di sempre: Essie Jazz.
Ho comprato la mia boccetta ormai quattro anni fa nel carinissimo salone MiniLuxe a Boston. L'unico colore che su cui avevo già fatto qualche ricerca era l'allora celeberrimo OPI You Don't Know Jacques: quindi sono entrata, ho ammirato la pa-re-te di smalti tutti belli ordinati, ho visto Jazz ed è stato amore a prima vista.
La formula non è proprio perfetta, bastano sì due passate, facendo però attenzione a non creare imperfezioni con la seconda mano.

butter LONDON Pearly Queen

Ciao a todos!
Eccomi tornata dopo aver risolto il problemino con la SD card!
Siccome è un po' che non vi mostro degli smalti... direi che è tempo di rimediare!
Come da titolo, vi mostro il Pearly Queen della butter LONDON: si tratta di un bianco perlato con una punta di grigio diciamo non coprentissimo perchè dopo due passate si vede ancora la lunetta bianca, ma non si tratta di un difetto per me bensì di un bonus!
Uno dei miei primi smalti è stato un bianco perlato della Maybelline più o meno simile a questo, ma ancora meno opaco e mi piaceva un sacco come mi stava: l'effetto era perlato però traspariva il rosa naturale delle unghie (forse perchè ne mettevo solo uno strato)... super chic! Per questo ho un debole per i bianchi o rosini così e sono sempre alla ricerca dello stesso risultato!
Tornando al Pearly Queen, colore sì, formula ok, durata due giorni (poi l'ho cambiato, ma era ancora in buono stato).

I'm back again, with the problem of my SD card solved!
Since it's been a while that I don't show you nail polish swatches... it's time to do it!!
As you've guessed from the title, today I show you Pearly Queen by butter LONDON: it's a pearly white with a tiny bit of gray; it's not completely opaque in two coats, but for me that's an added bonus, I like it like that.
One of my first polishes was a Maybelline pearly white that was less opaque than this one (maybe because I just did one coat) and I really liked it on my nails because they were polished but you could still see the natural color of the nails coming through... super chic! That's why these kind of colors are my soft spot!
Getting back to the Pearly Queen, colour yes, formula ok, longevity dunno, I've changed polish after two days but it was still in good conditions.

Ciao a tutti!
Spero abbiate passato un bel weekend come me! Finalmente da ieri qua è tornato il sole e ne ho approfittato (anche) per fare un po' di foto di swatch di trucco. Qui vi mostro lo smalto che sto indossando, Branwen's Feather della butter LONDON, un viola scuro che sembra quasi nero e ma alla luce rivela dei riflessi viola e argento (ben visibili nella foto della boccetta).
Ho dato due passate con top coat!

Finally yesterday the sun came out again and I took a lot of pictures of makeup swatches and of the nail polish I'm wearing, Branwen's Feather from butter LONDON. It's an almost black purple that reveals beautiful purple and silver shimmers in the light (clearly visible in the bottle pic.)
