Sì, nel titolo mi riferisco allo smalto della China Glaze.

E' uscito nel 2010 come parte della collezione primaverile Up & Away, una collezione ricca di colori pastello e colori accesi che ha riscosso e riscuote ancora un sacco di successo, credo meritatamente.

Yes, in the title I'm referring to the China Glaze nail lacquer.

It's part of the Spring 2010 collection Up & Away: a collection made up of pastel and bright colors that had and still has a lot of success, deservedly I think.

Nello specifico, questo smalto ha una formula incredibile: la stesura è fantastica! Nelle foto forse non sembra, ma semplicemente perchè la seconda passata l'ho data 3 giorni dopo perchè non ho avuto tempo.

La tenuta è stata ottima per essere solo una passata e il colore mette così tanta energia e allegria! In più ho scoperto che si abbina (quasi) perfettamente ad un anello che ho.

La base è Nail Fertilizer della butter London e non ho messo top coat. E' lucido a sufficienza da solo.

To be more specific, this nail polish has an incredible formula: application is great! In these pics probably the quality of the polish doesn't show up, but simply because I did the second coat after 3 days, because I just had the time to do one.

The staying power was very good to be just one coat and the colour is so energizing and cheering!

Another bonus for me is that it goes well together with my ring.

I used Nail Fertilizer from butter London as a base and I didn't opt for a top coat. I liked it as it was.

Un bel colore granata, messo per supportare la mia squadra di calcio del cuore durante la penultima partita! Ottima stesura ma la durata lascia a desiderare, come tutti gli OPI su di me.

Due passate e come base Nubar Foundation Base Coat e come top coat Seche Vite.

A nice garnet colour, chosen to support my favorite soccer team during one of the last matches!

Great application but it doesn't last on me, as almost any OPI on me.

Two coats over Nubar Foundation Base Coat plus Seche Vite top coat.

Sul sito viene descritto come un verde salvia polveroso. Non è proprio la descrizione giusta secondo me, perchè io lo definirei un turchese polveroso. Bello bello bello!!! A parte la qualità degli smalti Zoya che è quasi sempre ottima, il colore ha un twist particolare :-)

On the website is described as a medium, dusty sage green. It's not the description I'd give, I'd definite it as a dusty turquoise. A true beauty! Apart from the Zoya quality which is always on top, the colour has an awsome twist :-)

Nero olografico, c'è altro da aggiungere? Cattura lo sguardo, come qualsiasi olografico al sole... non capita anche a voi di non riuscire a staccare gli occhi dalle vostre dita?

Holographic black, anything else to say? Eye-catching, like any holographic in the sun... doesn't it happen to you also that you can't take your eyes off your fingers?

Un rosa pallido e molto coprente con una forte base bianca. Uhmmm non mi fa impazzire, stacca troppo sulla mia carnagione. Inoltre la formula è molto densa ed è stato difficile stenderlo. Sull'anulare ho messo il glitter Essence Circus Confetti.

A pale pink and very opaque with a strong white base. Uhmmm it's not just for me, it doesn't go with my skintone. The formula is way too thick and difficult to apply. On my accent nail is Essence Circus Confetti.

Essie Over The Knee (Autunno - Fall 2005)

Color cioccolato al latte con dei riflessi rame. L'ho messo perchè nell'ultima collezione Essie Bikini So Teeny c'è un colore vagamente simile, All Tied Up. La stesura è buona, ma con una passata in più (cioè 3 totali) sarebbe stato perfetto.

Milk chocolate with copper shimmer in it. I've chosen it because I've seen a similar color in one of Essie's latest collection Bikini So Teeny called All Tied Up. The application is good, but 3 coats would have been better.

OPI Mimosas for Mr. and Mrs. + Nubar Black Polka Dot

E' una combo semplice ma la trovo molto elegante e allo stesso tempo con una marcia in più!

Mancano le mie foto :-/, erano sul cellulare che mi hanno rubato a marzo (è successo anche quello...). Vi metto la foto a cui mi sono ispirata per farla però! :) E' di Nathalie del blog Jellynat, una ragazza francese veramente adorabile: è molto brava e fa delle foto favolose!!! Andate a dare un'occhiata al suo blog ;-)

A simple combo, but I find it so elegant and so edgy at the same time!

My photos are missing here :-/ They were on my cellphone, which has been stolen in March (yeah... well... that's life I guess).

China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald

Ecco un bel verdone scuro metallizzato che mi ricorda... un abete! E che per questo indosserei tendenzialmente nel periodo di Natale, ma siccome a marzo faceva ancora freddo... la sezione del mio cervello addetta alla scelta colore ha puntato questo. Ogni tanto non avete anche voi l'impressione di avere una parte dedicata allo smalto, tipo catalogo mentale, care nails addict come me? xD Beh ad ogni modo... ecco il verde smeraldo incriminato ;)

Here you are a nice dark metallic green that reminds of a...fir! For this reason I'd rather wear it during Christmas time, but since here in March it was freeeezing... the nail-polish-color-choosing section in my brain opted for this. Sometimes don't you have the impression of having a dedicated section for nail polish, like a mental catalogue, dear nail addicts like me? xD Well anyway... here's the indicted emerald green ;)

Dopo un paio di giorni, quando cominciava a vedersi il bianco della lunetta, ho aggiunto uno strato di OPI Silver Shatter (niente foto, vedi sopra il perchè): bell'effetto che ha potenziato il mio collegamento mentale con il Natale (ero un po' nostalgica!) e mi ha fatto pensare a questo...

After a couple of days, when some major tip wear began to appear, I added a coat of OPI Silver Shatter (no photo, again): nice effect, that reinforced my mental connection with Christmas (seems like I felt kinda nostalgic!) and the image that I had in mind was...

Essie Not Just A Pretty Face
Semplice, carino, senza troppe pretese ma senz'altro non si può sbagliare con questo (l'unico problema è che è poco coprente, ho dato 3 passate).
Provato anche con il top coat Essence Night in Vegas per vivacizzarlo.

Simple, cute, not "da bomb" but you can't definitely go wrong with this one (the downside is that for a little more coverage you'll need 3 coats.)
Tried with a flakie top coat from Essence, 04 Night in Vegas, just to give it a bit of dimension.

Un bel verde cremoso, che si stende anche bene.
Non ho Jade is the New Black dell'OPI, ma credo siano parecchio simili.
Una delle unghie è disastrata: ho provato a recuperare un'unghia rotta e... ehm... il risultato è stato disastroso.

A nice, creamy green that applied very well: I don't own Jade is the New Black from OPI, but I think this one is quite close.
One of the nails is awful because I tried to fix it as it was broken... er... the result was a disaster.

Mani & Pedi: OPI You're Such a Kabuki Queen & Zoya Cynthia
Sinceramente l'OPI non è niente di che, un colore visto e rivisto (Strawberry Margarita mi piace di più) ma nell'ultima foto lo vedete satinato (ho usato lo Special Effect Topper Soft Touch della Essence).
Cynthia è accettabile se non è inondato di raggi solari. Quando E' inondato di raggi, è davvero bellino! E' un blu petrolio molto molto scuro con degli shimmerini che si notano davvero poco, anche alla luce del sole.
Questa combinazione manicure e pedicure mi piace un sacco però!

Honestly the OPI pink is nothing special, stuff we see over and over again (I like Strawberry Margarita much more!) but this is the nice result with a satin finish top coat (from Essence, Special Effect Topper Soft Touch).
Cynthia is ok when the rays of the sun are not hitting it directly. It's very pretty when they DO!
It'a very very dark teal with a barely visible shimmer, even in the light.
I really like the combo though!

Acquistini Kiko - Kiko Mini Haul

Salve a tutte/i!

Mi spiace essere sparita per più di un mese, ma sono stata un po' indaffarata e non ho seguito il blog.. però mi sono venute in mente tante idee per nuovi post ;-)

Venendo al sodo, la scorsa settimana sono passata da Kiko e mi sono lasciata tentare dai prodotti nuovi: ho infatti preso uno smalto in uno dei nuovi colori e un ombretto in crema della nuova collezione estiva, City Summer.

I'm sorry, I haven't posted for more than a month but I've been quite busy... however, in the meantime I got some nice ideas for future posts ;-)

Let's get to the point: last week I went shopping and I bought two things from an Italian brand called Kiko Make Up Milano. I picked up a nail varnish in one of the new shades and a cream shadow from the summer collection, called City Summer.

Mini haul Kiko

Smalto n° 359 Pesca Chiaro: come suggerisce il nome, è un arancione chiaro con una punta di rosa e in realtà il colore mi sembrava molto soft nella boccetta, una volta applicato invece... poom! A me sembra quasi fluo!

La formula è un po' densa, però si stende abbastanza bene. Nella foto sotto vedete due passate, utilizzando un nail primer e poi un top coat Barielle (di cui farò la review prossimamente ;-) ): non è perfetto perchè ci sono delle striature ben visibili, quindi se siete delle perfezioniste forse fareste 3 passate ( io non je la fo).

Nail Lacquer n° 359, Light Peach: as the name suggests, it is a light orange with a tad of pink. In the bottle it seems a soft shade, but on the nails it's just... kaboom!!! So bright, almost fluo!

The formula tends to be on the thick side, but it's not so bad and it applies quite well.

In the picture below you see two coats ( with a nail primer and a top coat, both from Barielle... I'll review them soon!): and you can see various streaks, so if you want perfection you should go for a third coat, but I'm just too lazy.

Luce naturale (giornata uggiosa) - Natural Light (rainy day)

Liquid Colour Eyeshadow colore 03 Aqua: un ombretto in crema in edizione limitata per l'estate dalla texture cremosa e molto pigmentato.

L'ho solo swatchato sulla mano, ma sembra che si stenda e si sfumi bene. Mi chiedo se la durata è ottima come dicono sul sito. Ci sono otto colori disponibili ed in particolare mi hanno colpita anche lo 04 Indigo, un bellissimo blu intenso brillante, e lo 02 Green, un verde tra il pastello e l'acceso, ma ho scelto l'azzurro perchè mi ricorda per l'appunto il colore dell'acqua.

Vi farò sapere com'è la durata! :-)

Liquid Colour Eyeshadow 03 Aqua: a limited edition cream eyeshadow with a velvety texture and very pigmented.

All I did was swatch it on my hand and it applies and blends in well. I wonder if it's longlasting as they say on the website. There are eight colours available ( two gorgeous shades are 04 Indigo, a bright almost electric blue, and 02 Green, a pastel green) but I've chosen a nice light blue that reminds me of water.
